Proteste topless la Pamplona, înainte de coride şi tradiţionalele curse cu tauri. Povestea unuia dintre cele mai controversate festivaluri din lume

Cursele cu tauri şi coridele de la Pamplona, cele care au adus faima acestui oraş din nordul Spaniei, atrag anual 1,5 milioane de turişti, dar şi protestele apărătorilor drepturilor animalelor.

Festivalul San Fermin este în fiecare an scena protestelor apărătorilor drepturilor animalelor. Zilele acestea, în ajunul cunoscutului eveniment, în jur de 100 de persoane au manifestat pe străzile înguste ale Pamplonei, cerând interzicerea curselor cu tauri şi ale coridelor.

Activiştii de la PETA, dar şi din alte organizaţii au scandat contra acestui eveniment, au creat pancarte, şi-au pus coarne pe cap şi şi-au turnat pe ei pudră roşie, mimând sângele. Aceştia au deplâns ritualul luptelor cu tauri şi uciderea acestora de către matadori.

Fanii acestui festival vor lua de vineri cu asalt străduţele medievale ale Pamplonei, pentru cursa anuală cu tauri, o tradiţie documentată pentru prima oară în secolul 14.

San Fermin este însă şi centrul altor controverse. Anul trecut au fost raportate multe agresiuni sexuale, poliţiştii arestând 16 persoane.

De asemenea, festivalul este şi o celebrare a excesului şi a distracţiilor de tot felul care paralizează oraşul timp de nouă zile.

E ca şi cum se apropie sfârşitul lumii, spune Zurine Altable, care locuieşte în oraş.

Aproape 17.000 de oameni au participat anul trecut la cursa cu tauri. 92% dintre ei au fost bărbaţi. 46% dintre vizitatorii din 2016 au văzut pentru prima oară o coridă.

500 de euro este preţul minim pentru cazare într-un dormitor din faimosul hotel unde Hemingway obişnuia să stea când venea la acest festival.
